Calendula: My Happiness Herb

Posted by barb on May 1, 2014 at 11:45 AM

When I think of a happiness herb, I think of Calendula!

In its physical form it cheerfully and proudly blooms gorgeous orange and yellow blossoms, and to add to its coolness, the flowers follow the sun’s position all throughout the day.

Spiritually, we all have times that we can become angry or down on ourselves, and many times skin break outs are a physical manifestation of these feelings. Calendula aids in calming negativity both emotionally, and externally. Just its energy by looking at it can help soothe the hurt so we can let happiness back in. Myself, I toss some petals in with scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, salads, sauces etc.

Medically, it is famous for the myriad of healing properties that include antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, astringent, antifungal, antiviral, and immunostimulant which aid in a plethora of skin conditions. Taking it internally helps ulcers and hemorrhoids.

Hope you all are inspired to experience the happiness!
